MHAOK organizes two large events each year: Carnivale and Zarrow Mental Health Symposium.
Zarrow Mental Health Symposium is an annual conference with about 800 attendees. The purpose of the conference is to lead conversations on the latest mental health treatments, research, and methods.
I worked with the conference's internal and external committees to find sponsors and speakers. The marketing team was also directly responsible for the design of the event’s website, marketing and sales collateral, and promotions. I also managed the annual budget for the various deliverables.

One of my more interesting achievements was the year I saved the event about $1,200 by hand-designing 80 centerpieces with recycled leftover mailers.
Carnivale generates critical funds that sustain the organization’s programs. It’s positioned as “the best party in town.” Tickets are $1,000 each, and the event usually raises over $1 million. The development department is in charge of selling tickets, finding sponsors, and vetting potential vendors.
In the marketing department, we helped promote the event through paid and organic campaigns, which included social media, digital advertising, and local news. Additionally, we built sales enablement materials that helped the development team pitch to sponsors.
